We missed the track night last Wednesday because of the thunderstorm so we were keen to get back to some faster running this time. Unfortunately (as we only found out once we got there) there was a football match on and the track was off limits.
We decided to do our track night outside of the track. We jogged around the stadium to the waterfront. We warmed up on a short track that is surprisingly right out there on the waterfront.
New situation required new plan for the session. We decided to do 2 sets of 2 approximately 400m long almost sprints at the path along the sea with short 2-3 mins long cool down loop between the 2 sprint on one set.
It was quite good fun. My son decided to do his his best to keep up with me. He did pretty good job of doing so during the first set.
After set 1 we took about 5 minutes break and went for set 2. This time junior only managed to keep up with me on the first dash, then felt back a bit on the second one. But still pretty good effort from the little.
After this we cooled down a bit and then we jogged slowly to get a taxi.
Short and intensive one this one was.
